The rain did little to dampen the fun for the Métis Jamboree on July 20th. The event was moved into the arena and included everything from an opening ceremony with drummers and a pancake breakfast to pie baking and Tuff Man competitions.

Our exhibit for this event was managed by Angela Miskuski and Will Noel of Greenplanet Energy Analytics. It included a display about the new Metis Centre, including a laptop video presentation. There were also demonstration models for the electric vehicle program, information about the solar farm and electricity costs as well as prize draws. The questions and discussions from visitors on these topics were greatly appreciated.

Door Prize Winners: Richard Fersovitch and Dale Marion won a set of LED bulbs and a solar powered dancing bear.  Karen (Thacker) Fersovitch won the 3NE hat.

The evening wrapped up with “Bear Grease” – a live theatre/musical show that was put on by a very talented Indigenous theatre group, LightningCloud, from Edmonton.
