FireSmart work has been completed around the community of Allison Bay, north of Fort Chipewyan. The crews are now working along the road into Allison Bay.

This work involves helping communities in forested areas to reduce the risk of wildfire to their homes. They remove dead, fallen and unhealthy trees, thin tree stands, and clean debris from the forest floor. Controlled burns are used to dispose of the woody biomass and sometimes, they can be used as salvage for firewood.

The crews working are employed by Three Nations Energy and are made up entirely of local residents. If you are interested in this work, check out the positions that are still available and how to apply at: https://www.3ne.ca/jobs-more/
